Longer Life With Diabetes
Do you know how to live longer and happier life with diabetes. If you’ve been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, you know that it can be a difficult condition to live with. There are a few things you can do to reduce the severity of your symptoms and lower your risks for complications.
However, if you don’t change your lifestyle and eating habits, you may be dealing with Type 1 diabetes for years. Fortunately, there are many effective and affordable methods of treatment available for people with Type 1 Diabetes. Here are some suggestions for living a healthier lifestyle with diabetes.
Your diet should contain more fruits and vegetables – If you have Type I Diabetes, you need to make sure that you are getting a lot of the essential nutrients that your body needs in order to function properly. These nutrients include vitamin D, calcium, protein, and antioxidants. Some of these can be obtained through the diet, but most will need to come from supplements.
Your blood sugar levels can go haywire at any time, so it is important that you stay on top of your daily nutrition intake to avoid complications. Make sure that you are getting enough nutrients and vitamins from the foods that you eat and try to stay away from processed or junk foods.
Longer And Happier Life With Diabetes
Make sure that you are getting enough sleep – When you’re trying to deal with the effects of diabetes, it’s not just the physical effects that you need to pay attention to. The lack of sleep that comes with diabetes can also affect your mental functioning. A lack of sleep can lead to depression and anxiety, which can have a negative effect on your ability to care for yourself.
Make sure that you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night. If you are able to get this amount, take the time to stretch out by watching TV or playing a video game. You should also take the time to engage in relaxing hobbies like yoga, meditation, or playing a sport that you enjoy. Getting plenty of sleep is essential if you want to keep your stress levels down and live a longer and happier life with diabetes.
Don’t smoke – If you are a smoker, quit. Smoking cigarettes increases the amount of insulin that is produced in your body. As a result, your cells fail to produce as much of the blood sugar that they need to maintain their normal function. Smoking cigarettes also raises your cholesterol, which is another cause of hypoglycemia. It can also increase your chances of developing kidney and liver disease.
Exercising – This is another way to improve your quality of life by strengthening the muscles in your body, helping to maintain a healthy heart, and lowering your risk for high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity.
Exercising on a regular basis will help to increase your energy and allow you to feel more active and mobile. You will also find that exercising can help you to lose weight and to an extent. That’s one of the reasons why doctors encourage you to work out and exercise – to lose the extra fat, improve your circulation and control your blood sugar levels.

Make sure you get a good night’s sleep – Getting eight to ten hours of sleep each night is necessary for your body’s health. Without enough sleep, your body does not function well.
People with Type 1 Diabetes have reduced amounts of insulin in their systems, so they have a harder time regulating their glucose levels. If you are feeling fatigued and unable to function well, make sure that you are getting enough sleep every night to prevent this from occurring.
